"We had a suite with a separate bedroom. The main room had a sofa bed. We like this arrangement for our family of three. We liked the restaurant, and appreciated the free coffee and granola bars. We enjoyed the pools and walking around the golf course in the evenings. We hope to return again."

"The exercise room was a little limited but still had enough to get your exercises done. Had water and towels which was awesome. The outdoor pool was amazing. Gabrielle, the morning manager was a go-getter and just outstanding. We saw her doing the front desk as well as helping guests and even helping out the breakfast area. She was a real Superstar. The room was clean but there was an old towel on the back of the door and the soap dish was a little dirty but honestly it was small concern as the rest of the room was outstanding and very clean"

"First, the staff/managers/owners (not sure which) were very friendly and helpful at check in and in providing me information about the facility and the area. My room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There is no elevator, so anyone with mobility issues needs to be aware of the location of room choices when making a reservation. While I liked the room, the temperature was very cold (A/C) with no ability for me to change the temp in the room. So I used an extra blanket at night that was in the room. There are no closets or armoires for hanging suits or dresses, which I needed. So chair backs had to do. The one breakfast I ate was average with fruit, yogurt and granola, and waffles. The waffles had been prepared the day before and reheated for breakfast (they were being made when I checked in). One thing not mentioned in the listing is the need to pay for parking in the city parking garage behind the inn. The cost for guests is half the daily rate (currently $9/day) which I find reasonable given the limited parking options in Downtown Gettysburg. And there are reserved spaces for guests. The location is one block from the center of Downtown Gettysburg, so perfect for walking to all downtown shops, events and attractions. Overall, for the nightly rate I paid, the generally positive feelings about the room, and the location, I recommend the Swope Manor as a place to include on your list of places to consider staying when visiting Gettysburg."

"My wife and I stayed here as an overnight stopover on a long road trip. We booked it based on the large number of positive reviews and the very reasonable price. I agree (mostly) with the reviews. Now, here are a few more details: It is a pet-friendly hotel. We were not aware of this, but since we like animals, this was not an issue for us. Pet owners tend to be pretty friendly anyway. The breakfast was mostly carbs: waffles, bread/toast, cereal, bagels, English muffins. There was little protein, not even eggs or those little Dannon yoghurt cups. After reading how great the breakfast offerings were, I was somewhat disappointed. But most people just go for the waffles anyway. Complementary fruit is available anytime. Getting into and out of the hotel was a little challenging due to construction and poor road design. That may be one reason the price was so reasonable. It's not the most accessible place we've ever been. But once you've figured out the access, it's not too bad. We spent only one night there, but had to do laundry. There were three machines: a top-load washer, a front-load washer, and one dryer. The dryer was the bottleneck, as another guest was doing laundry before us. So, we went and got supper and then did laundry after returning. Soap was complimentary. Most people just want a clean room and a comfortable bed, and this hotel certainly offers that. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We would stay there again."
